MANUFACTURING
Celebrating - 42 years of craftsman building the industries finest tools!

Manufacturing - Heise Industries crown jewel. Long before industry had access to sophisticated computer controlled machining centers, Heise Industries invested heavily in building a team of skilled mold makers. With the dawn of the computer age, Heise has enhanced their abilities with the latest state of the art manufacturing technologies.

Heise Industries reverse engineering work cell utilizes a Renishaw Cyclone touch probe digitizer as the front end of the system. With a contact pressure of only 12 grams, the Renishaw is able to capture almost any sample or model, and "translate" it into pure data. That information can now be processed for use by the milling centers.

The manufacturing process starts as either a computer generated solid model from engineering, or a physical model sculpted in our Model and Pattern Dept.. A solid model can be used to create the tool paths needed to run our machining centers. A physical model follows the reverse engineered process into manufacturing.

Regardless the source, all of the information needed to make the molds' components is efficiently distributed via the company wide network to every machine center.

The machines that make it happen

Our technical advantage starts in engineering, but ends in manufacturing. Listed below are just some of the highlights of our manufacturing capacity.

  • High Speed Horizontal Milling Center with Tool and Pallet Changers.
  • Multiple Spindle CNC Milling Centers.
  • CNC Lathes
  • CNC Milling/Turning Centers
  • Work cells that include IR controlled pallet changers.
  • RAM EDM.
  • Digitizing.
  • Direct Pattern Duplication
  • Complete Grinding, Lathe and Bridgeport Capacity.

Every mold component is custom routed through manufacturing to ensure precision and quality in each step of the process. Ultimately all of the parts converge in the Finish Assembly area. In finish assembly, skilled moldmakers assemble the mold sets, and prepare the cavity surface. All cavity finishes are available from a course 36 grit blast to an SPI/SPE No. 1 high polish.

After everything is done, the mold sets enter their final phase of manufacturing: Final Inspection at Heise Industries.

6 Points of Quality

  1. Dimensional: Dimensions are met and tolerances held.
  2. Capacity: Fill height and overflow capacity checked.
  3. Flow Rate: All water circuits checked for strong flow.
  4. Thermal: Temperature sensing is used to verify even cooling.
  5. Fit & Finish: Everything is clean and polished. Quality in the details.
  6. Custom Requirements: Your mold manufactured to your specifications!

All the work is done, and everything is approved by Quality Assurance, the mold is delivered to Shipping and Receiving. A copy of our Quality Policy is inserted between the halves, and the mold closed. The finished product is loaded into a custom built crate, sealed, labeled, and shipped.
